Last minute preparations are being made, bags are being packed, hearts are starting to pump as team members prepare for our March trips.
Hearts for Haiti has seven team members flying to Miami Port au Prince and Jeremie on March 6 and eight members departing March 13. Our plans are to start the water treating system and train a few older kids from the orphanage in its operation. We also plan to do the final installation of plumbing and fixtures including five toilets, nine bathroom sinks and two kitchen sinks and concrete countertops. If time allows, we will work on finishing the floor and hopefully moving kids into their new home.
In addition to the construction work, we have a four nurses on the team who will be busy tending the wounded through several mobile clinics.
There is definitely a sense of hope and a vision for a new Haiti. With the continued support of the rest of the world, Haiti stands on the cusp of rebuilding their nation.
