Day 3
Monday was a frustrating day. Reservations had been made with Tortug Air, confirmations had ben received, and when we got the the airport, they had no record of us or our reservations and the plane was full. The clerk said we were welcome to stay in Port au Prince another day and make reservations for Tuesday and she thought we might be able to get on a plane then. I explained we had places to go and things to do and it did not include another night in PaP. None of that seemed to matter. I ended up chartering two small planes from MAF (Mission Air Force) and they took us and all of our baggage in one trip. After arguing, (I’m sorry I meant to say negotiating) for several hours Tortug agreed to refund our money for the flight that was not available.

All arrived safely and the crew was busy working without us. Unfortunately they were laying the finished floor and there was no place for us to work. Bettter luck tomorrow!
